Mini Storytime kits are now available at the Library! Bags include a booklet to read and color, rhymes, book suggestions, and materials to make a turkey finger puppet. Please call, email or use the chat feature on our website to arrange a curbside pickup time.


Due to community health concerns (including the closing of the local public school buildings), the Library is returning our services to curbside only effective November 17th. This includes borrowing of library materials, faxing and printing services, and pickup of take-home craft kits. There is no change to library hours at this time. CCLA Virtual Readers Theater Presents: Fairy Tales!

The next Readers Theater event will be taking place on November 24th @ 7PM. This month, to help lighten things up, the virtual readers theater will be bringing you: Fairy Tales! The tales will be taken from both the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson’s. It will be great fun for the whole family (even the little ones!). Tune in via Zoom. The Poughkeepsie Public Library has created this amazing resource to help you learn more about becoming anti-racist. With different books suggestions, documentaries, informational videos and articles for all ages, parents & educators, if you are looking to be more informed about anti-racism, this is your one-stop shop. Knowledge is power so let’s educate ourselves!


The Library is holding in-person browsing appointments. You must call the library at 518-794-8844 to set up an appointment.

In-person appointment Hours are:

  • 11AM-5PM– Mondays-Fridays
  • 10:15-12:45PM on Saturdays

The public computers will also be open for use via appointment from:

  • 10-11AM, 1-2PM, 5:45PM–Monday-Wednesdays & Fridays
  • On Thursdays, Computer hours are 10-11AM, 1-2PM & 5:6:45PM
