Author Talk: Lara Tupper

July 15, 2020

You've heard her music at the library. Did you know that she also writes? This past year, Lara Tupper--jazz musician and creative writing teacher--has released a new novel entitled "Off Island." Join us as she talks about her latest tale following artist Paul Gauguin as he runs away to an island off the coast of Maine. One hundred years later, another artist by the name of Pete is facing similar urges to Gauguin; yet, it is their abandoned women who have a clearer view of the world. It is a tale of love, disappointment, duty and wanderlust. She has also written "A Thousand and One Nights," a novel, with "Amphibians," a linked short story collection forthcoming in 2021.
